Vinaconex Ships First Cement Package to Mozambique

Cam Pha Cement Joint Stock Company, a subsidiary of the listed Vietnam Import-export and Construction Corporation (Vinaconex), exported its first batch of 12,500 tons cement to Mozambique Mar 25, following a deal inked in Jan 2009, reported local media, citing Vinaconex's source.
 
This is also the country's first large cement export package to Africa so far, noted Vinaconex.
 
Apart from supplying its products for the domestic market, Cam Pha company is planning to export millions tons of cement and clinker to potential markets such as the Middle East, Africa, South Africa, Latin America and Europe in the near future.
 
It has inked contracts with Pionaire Finance Co. Ltd to export 40,000 tons/month to South Africa, and with Universal Best Services LLC to ship clinker and cement to the US and South America.
 
Inaugurated March 2008, Cam Pha cement factory worth VND6 trillion (US$355 million) in northern coal-rich province of Quang Ninh, the largest of its kind so far in Vietnam, has a designed capacity of producing 2.3 million tons of PCB40 cement and 1.89 million tons of clinker annually.
 
After one-year operation, the plant has turned out 1.2 million tons of clinker and 323,000 tons of PCB40 cement. (Local sources)
