Vietnam Funds Report Profits: LCF Rothschild
LCF has said in a report on emerging markets that many funds in Vietnam have reported profits with net assets value rising significantly compared with end-2008.
Of 32 public funds, NAV of foreign investment funds jumped 14.1 per cent on average since early 2009, higher than 2.1 per cent of domestic funds.
As of May 9, NAV of funds which invested in bonds soared 3.6 per cent, of funds which invested in real estates dropped 1.8 per cent, of funds which put cash in unlisted shares was down 1.6 per cent while Vietnam’s main stock benchmark grew 14.1 per cent.
Blackhorse Enhanced Vietnam Inc saw its NAV rocket 18.4 per cent, Vietnam Blue-chips Fund (VF4) witnessed NAV rise 18.5 per cent, PXP Vietnam Fund with NAV jumping 19.1 per cent, Vietnam Lotus with NAV up 17.8 per cent.
Manulife Progressive Fund’s NAV fell 16.9 per cent, the paper added. (Securities Investment)
