Vietnam Exports 27,000 Tons of Tea in Jan-Apr: Vitas

Vietnam exported 27,000 tons of various varieties of tea in the first four months this year, earning total revenue of US$34 million, up 10 per cent in volume and 9 per cent in value against the same period last year, the Vietnam Tea Association (Vitas) said on May 25.
 
Vitas said Vietnamese tea products have been exported to 110 nations and territories in the world with trademarks registered and protected in 70 foreign markets.
 
Vietnamese enterprises are now boosting exports, striving to export 117,000 tons of tea valued at US$130 million-US$140 million in 2009, equaling to last year’s figure.
 
Vietnam is the world’s fifth largest tea producer in terms of volume and export value. (Vietnam Financial Times)
