The U.S. will delay an announcement of the results of its final review on the anti-dumping suit against imports of Vietnamese shrimps until July 28 this year, instead of July 7 as previously scheduled.

The delay was announced by the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), said the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

U.S.’s DOC conducted the review on batches of frozen warm-water shrimps imported from Vietnam between February 1, 2007 and January 31, 2008.

Although expecting difficulties, VASEP said that the final decision by DOC will not keep U.S. importers away from Vietnamese products.

Vietnam’s total shrimp export turnover to the U.S. was estimated to reach US$850 million last year. (Young People)
