Vietnam to Limit Export of Important Raw Minerals
The government of Vietnam has authorized the Ministries of Industry and Trade, Construction and Natural Resources and Environment to jointly outline a roadmap to limit outputs and export of key raw minerals such as crude oil, natural gas, coal and metal.
The ministries were also required to carefully check mineral exploration, exploitation projects nationwide, said the resolution on state management on natural resources.
Reports on these issues should be submitted to the government within the third quarter of this year, stated the resolution.
The Ministries of Investment and Planning, Finance and the aforementioned ministries were recommended to boost investment to assess and discover more underground or undersea minerals.
The government asked the ministries of construction, natural resources and environment, and industry and trade, and provincial People’s Committees to revise approved minerals exploration, production and processing projects and report to them to the government in the second quarter of 2010.
