Vietnam Jan-Apr Imports from Belgium -44.6 per cent to US$73.81Mln

Vietnam’s goods imports from Belgium, in the first four months of this year, decreased by 44.6 per cent on-year to US$73.81 million, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) said.
 
Machines, equipment, and spare parts took the lead in imports with US$17.297 million, including US$4.411 million in April, up 34.2 per cent on-month and down 19.9 per cent on-year.
 
Pharmaceuticals followed with US$12.367 million worth of imports, chemicals with US$8.566 million, gemstones, precious metal and jewelry with US$7.954 million and chemical products with US$3.251 million.
 
In 2008, trade between Vietnam and Belgium reached US$1.37 billion with Vietnam exporting over US$1 billion worth of goods, up 20 per cent on-year and importing US$350 million worth of goods, up 12 per cent on-year. (vinanet)
