The Vietnamese Government has recently given the green light for exports of refined iron ore, manganese, copper, lead, zinc, zinc oxide powder and barite this year, said the government.

The cabinet asked the Ministries of Industry and Trade, Natural Resources and Environment, and provincial and municipal People’s Committees to calculate domestic demands for these minerals in order to figure out inventory volumes for export.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment had sent eight teams to check and assess mineral exploration, exploitation, use and export activities in localities nationwide between May 5 and 30 as illegal mining and material production, particularly coal and gold mining has been found rampant in some localities recently, said local media.
