Deposit Interest Rate Rises to 10.2 Per Cent
Vietnam Tin Nghia Bank has decided to hike its deposit interest rate to 10.2 per cent per annum on a 36-month term.
Although the prime rate set by the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) was kept unchanged at 7 per cent per annum in July, many banks still revised the borrowing rate.
Saigon Hanoi Bank added its deposit rate by 0.2 - 0.4 per cent to 9.45 per cent per annum on 26-month terms. An Binh Commercial Joint Stock Bank also increased its rate by 0.1 per cent per annum on 1-month, 2-month, 3-month, 6-month and 12-month terms.
The Vietnam International Bank has also hiked its savings deposit rate by 0.2 per cent to 0.6 per cent per annum. Its rate for 3-month term is 8.02 per cent per annum, 6-month 8.36 per cent, 12-month 8.50 per cent and 36-month 9 per cent.
