Mekong Delta City to Submit US$4B Express Railway Project to Vietnam Govt
The People’s Committee of the Mekong Delta province of Can Tho will submit a project to build a US$4-billion express railway to the prime minister for consideration in November this year.
The railway will start from Thu Thiem New Urban Area in Ho Chi Minh City to one of expected districts of Cai Rang, Binh Thuy and O Mon in Can Tho city.
The Can Tho-HCM City route, which will be between 147 kilometers and 156 kilometers long, will have an expected total capital of US$4 billion.
The municipal authorities have recently had a meeting with representatives from the Vietnam Railway Administration, the Transport Engineering Design Joint Stock Incorporated South (Tedisouth)and South Korea’s ChungSuk EngineeRing Co. on the project. (Investment)
