PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power), an affiliate of the state-run Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, is seeking a suitable location in the central province of Binh Thuan to build a VND352.48-billion (US$18.6 million) wind-to-power plant.
The plant will have three wind turbines and is expected to generate over 25 million kWh of electricity a year to supply for households in Phu Quy island district.
The corporation is conducting surveys in Ngu Phung and Long Hai communes.
Binh Thuan province currently takes lead in the number of wind-to-power projects in Vietnam with 12 projects.
The province is estimated to have a huge potential for harnessing 5,040 MW of wind energy. (Young People)
