2010: Exports of Plastic Products to Reach US$ 1 Billion
According to the Industry and Trade Information Centre, exports of plastic products of our country has reached 554.1 million since the early 2010. Accordingly, it can be sure that this figure this year will reach US$ 1 billion.
The Industry and Trade Information Centre said exports of plastic products in the half end of July 2010 reached 46 million, a slight increase compared with the first half of the month. In total, exports of plastic products in July 2010 is estimated at 86.4 million which slightly increased over June, and 24.2% higher than the same period last year.
Since the early year, monthly exports of plastic products reaches no less than US$80 million. In total, the country’s exports of plastic products has reached 554.1 million. At this point, it can be said that exports of plastic products this year will reach US$ 1 billion milestone.
Only in the second half of July 2010, Vietnam’s plastic products are exported to nearly 70 markets worldwide, with seven markets reaching export turnover of over US$ 1 million each. Japan is currently the largest import market for Vietnam’s plastic products. The export turnover to this market in the second half of July is estimated at 11.2 million, a 26.5% proportion of total exports in the period. Following is the U.S. market, which is estimated at approximately US$ 5.7 million during the last 15 days in July, a 13.2% proportion of total exports.
These two largest export markets are followed by Germany and Cambodia. Export turnover to German market reached 2.1 million, accounting for 8.1% proportion. The export turnover to Cambodia market reached US$ 1.5 million, accounting for 6.8% proportion. In overall, exports to these two markets is relatively stable in recent months. The products used in packaged transportation is still the kind of products mostly exported.
