A serious traffic accident happened on Giai Phong Road, Hanoi at 10:30 on August 25, 2010. A truck crashed into a motorbike, number plate 17M3-8360, ridden by Bui Thi Tham, 26, on the same direction.
Opportune presence
The accident claimed three lives, including two kids, and one serious injury. The traffic congested on directions leading to Giai Phong Road (near Nuoc Ngam Bus Station).
The truck driven by Nguyen The Anh, born in 1984, is owned by Duc An Transport Co., Ltd, located in Thanh Nghi commune, Thanh Nien district, Ha Nam province, which signed an insurance policy with AAA Assurance Corporation - Ha Nam Branch.
Being informed of the misfortune from Duc An Company, Nguyen Dinh Tuan, AAA Ha Nam Branch Director and Le Manh Trieu, Assessor of AAA Ha Nam Branch, immediately headed to the scene. Tuan coordinated with the police force to work out the case.
Realising this was a serious accident, he called and emailed a quick report to AAA Corporation for instruction. Trieu was told to compensate insurance policyholders in the fastest manner.
"Fast - Right - Enough" Commitment
After the calamity happened, although AAA Ha Nam needed to work more with paper procedures, it decided to advance VND75 million of compensations to Duc An Company on September 1, 2010. Tuan said: "None of us can foreknow who and when the bad luck falls on. The mishap is a big loss for victims’ families and causes damage to Duc An Company. We have made a temporary compensation for insurance policyholders and will redeem in full after hearing the conclusion from the police. Hopefully, the timely support will help Duc An Company to overcome the incident and share with affected families.”
