Vietnam Firm to Build VND65B Rice Export-Processing Plant
An Giang Plant Protection Joint Stock Company (AGPPS) will invest VND65 billion to build a rice export-processing plant in Chau Thanh district of Mekong Delta province of An Giang.
The 5-hectare plant will include an oven with daily capacity of 500 tons, a husking system with daily capacity of 480 tons and a warehouse with total capacity of 35,000 tons.
The company has also signed a contract with local farmers to supply rice seeds and pesticide and to buy almost all high quality rice cultivated on 10,000 hectares in Chau Thanh and Chau Phu districts.
The plant is expected to commence this 2010-2011 winter-spring crop. (Vietnam Agriculture)
