Thai Binh to Set up Coastal Economic Zone

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung recently approved the proposal to establish the littoral economic zone (EZ) with total acreage of 30,583 hectares in the northern province of Thai Binh. The first development stage with 15,000 hectares will be added to the Master Plan for Vietnam Coastal Economic Zone Development until 2020.
 
According to the proposed scheme, the EZ will cover parts of Thai Thuy and Tien Hai districts.
 
In the first phase, the province will build passageways to ports, infrastructure items of export processing zone and other functional works, Con Den, Con Vanh and Dong Chau tourists sites, and upgrade Diem Dien Port, urban Diem Dien and Tien Hai towns.
 
In the second stage, more infrastructural works will be built for export processing zones, tourist sites, non-tariff zones and others. The investment will be completed by 2025- 2030.
