89 FDI Projects Licensed in April

Figures by the Foreign Investment Department under the Ministry of Planning and Investment showed in April 2011, the country had 89 licensed FDI projects, valued at nearly USD 1.17 billion. The month also saw an increased capital of USD 485 million in 51 operational projects.
 
For these, both licensed and increased-capital projects, in April, foreign investors poured USD 4.024 billion of FDI capital into Vietnam. Amongst 29 countries and territories investing in Vietnam in the first four months this year, Singapore took the lead with a licensed capital of US$1.128 billion, followed by Hong Kong (China) with US$521.1 million and Malaysia with more than US$391 million.
 
Ho Chi Minh City attracted the largest amount of FDI capital with US$1.132 billion. Hanoi jumped to the second with US$430.48 million and Danang ranked third with USD 364.68 million.
