Amata - Preferred Location for Manufacturers
Amata Corporation, a leading Thai developer and manager of factory estates, is today a preferred location for manufacturing in the Southeast Asia region. The name “Amata” means “eternal”, reflecting its vision and major corporate policies.
Amata was established in 1989 and listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand in 1997. Till now, the Corp has established over 15 subsidiaries and dozens of joint ventures. In over 20 years, Amata has been building industrial estates where people can both work and live. Typical estates include Amata Nathorn, in Chonburi (the largest) and Amata City, in Rayong.
What makes Amata different from others is that the Corp always adds value to its industrial estates by improving the quality and availability of education in communities. Not only will local people have the opportunity to learn and become part of the knowledge-based economy, but also companies that operate facilities inside Amata industrial estates will have access to a better-educated pool of well-trained labourers.
In 1994, grasping the growing opportunity in Vietnam, Amata established its presence in Bien Hoa, Dong Nai and soon built an outstanding project – Amata City Bien Hoa. The project, 30 km from Ho Chi Minh City, has 112 factories and more than 700 hectares of land in Dong Nai province. The project's new phase will add villas, apartments and lifestyle facilities which are in great demand there. Another mixed use estate in Dong Nai is being planned near the major airport expected to open in the coming time.
Dr Huynh Ngoc Phien, President of Amata Vietnam, shared, “Amata’s facility is known as one of the top locations for placing a factory in Vietnam and travelling throughout the industrial park. Roads and infrastructure are built to quality levels much higher than similar parks in Vietnam and the close proximity of Bien Hoa City means ease in locating trained workers and ensures proper housing and other support. In addition, soil conditions are better than in other parks that require extensive piling work. Well cared-for grounds and reliable utilities are a hallmark of the facility. Another future benefit of the Amata site is that it is much closer to the new deep water port that is soon to be open and also is closer to the site of the new airport.”
In the context that most of Vietnam’s cities and provinces compete to attract foreign investment, Amata City Bien Hoa has been creating a place for investment and a place for living, contributing to local economic development.
