Dong Dang Town- Services and Trading as Key Factors for Development
Visiting Dong Dang these days, we just find the most impressive changes in this land. The kiosks, grocery stalls, stalls selling electronic items and restaurants have been increasing. The lives of people here are improving more and more. These changes are a result of attention from the levels of Party, and authorities of the town and the utmost efforts of people here for economic development, which has built a new appearance for the town.
From Lang Son city, along National Highway 1A to the north about 14km, we arrive in the busy and active Dong Dang border town. The town is situated on the main road from Lang Son city to Tan Thanh bordergate, on National Highway 1A to the Friendship bordergate, there is the Dong Dang international station to China. With these conditions over recent years, Dong Dang has always set services - trading as the orientation for the economic development of the town. Besides, the infrastructure in the province is also upgraded. Mr Pham Van Dung, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dong Dang town said that currently 100 percent of the roads in the area have been concreted, and 100 percent of households are using electricity and fresh rural water. Per capita income is VND20 million to 25 million per year.
Besides, the town of Dong Dang has great potential for tourism development. The town lies entirely in a valley with an area of 700 ha, of which three fourths of the land is the mountains and hills, and a population of about 7,000 people. This is home to four ethnic groups: Kinh, Tay, Nung and Hoa, with many diverse customs and many unique tourist destinations. The difference in tourism at Dong Dang is that beside the tour about historic relics, tourists can also go shopping for goods right at the border gate with a wide range of commodities.
On the basis of promoting the achieved results, Town People's Committee continues to implement the resolutions of the Party –People’s Council on developing economy, building the Party, building government authorities, building Fatherland Front and Public organisations. Moreover, political and ideological education, and the organizing to adequately grasp guidelines and resolutions of the Party and state policy for all officials and Party members in the Party have also been implemented. In the coming time, the town will continue to take advantage of investment in districts and provinces to boost the development of service - trading sectors in the area to contribute to accelerating the development rate, modernising the economy, and improving people's lives. There are some projects already operating efficiently. Based on achievements in the economic field, the Ward will boost investment in basic infrastructure construction, such as construction and upgrading of facilities, creating school campus, upgrading electricity and transport networks, and urban embellishment. In the future with the planning and coordinated investment of all levels of government, Dong Dang will further develop to the level of a town located in the head of the country.
