HCMC to Host 19th German Oktoberfest in October

The German Oktoberfest 2011 will be organised at Windsor Plaza Hotel on 7th, 8th October and 11th to 15th October 2011. This marks not only one of the largest social events and parties in town this year, but the biggest Oktoberfest in Vietnam and South East Asia.
 
The event is under the patronage of the German Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and the German Business Association (GBA) with its 160 German member corporations, together with the Windsor Plaza Hotel. More than 15,000 visitors (compared to 14,500 visitors last year) are expected this year to participate in Ho Chi Minh City, which makes the Oktoberfest 2011 not only the biggest German Oktoberfest in Vietnam, but also the biggest in South East Asia.
 
“We are proud that the Oktoberfest in Vietnam has become in its 19 years so popular amongst Vietnamese and the foreign community in Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam, which is a culture bridge of bringing people together with excitement!”, stated Elmar Dutt, Chairman of the German Business Association (GBA).
 
The Oktoberfest definitely shows the best of German “Gemuetlichkeit” (Coziness) in a traditional Bavarian beer - garden atmosphere, with traditional fresh-brewed Oktoberfest - Beer, German food delicacies and popularly Bavarian folk music, which let people to sing in chores, swing the beer mugs for toasting, hold each other’s hands and dance together with great enjoyment.
 
With the successful organization of Oktoberfest 2010 which left a very deep impression on the public, this year’s Oktoberfest is promising to be bigger and more exciting. The continuity of this cross - cultural event will be overwhelmed with games and funs, and with outstanding delicious German food and brew in this year
 
Participants once again ‘go loud’ with authentic German music from the German’s number-one band “Trenkwalder” and ‘go low’ with all - you - can - eat cuisine and all - you - can - drink German Oktoberfest beer!
