The 7th Hue Festival 2012 is set to take place in Thua Thien- Hue province from April 7 to 15, 2012. This event is attached to the National Tourism Year 2012 organised by Thua Thien - Hue province.

This is a special cultural event initiated by the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC).

At the request of the host city of Hue, this festival is incorporated with the 13th annual meeting of Historical Sites Federation which is expected to draw the participation of 88 cities from 55 countries in the world. This is an opportunity for Hue City, the city of culture and heritage, to introduce itself as a typical city of Vietnam to international friends.

Hue Festival features a lot of original arts performances from many registered countries in the world. In particular, Hue Festival 2012 will replay many Hue royal rituals, a recognised world cultural heritage of Vietnam.

Hue Festival was first held in 2000 with the support of the French Government and the French Embassy in Vietnam. The 2012 event will be the largest of all versions to date and will be a stepping stone for Hue City to become a centrally governed city in a few years to come.
