New Expressway to Boost Northern Economic Triangle
An expressway linking Hanoi with northern Hai Phong City has been scheduled to be built with an investment of more than VND5,830 billion (US$373.71 million) under the BOT (build-operate-transfer) mode, according to the Ministry of Transport.
The project will be kicked off with the participation of both foreign investors and local partners. Work on the project will be divided into two phases, with the first phase implemented in the 2006-2008 period, and the second from 2008 to 2013.
The 100km expressway will have six lanes, linking the intersection between Sai Dong and Thanh Tri Bridge in Hanoi with Dinh Vu Industrial Park in Hai Phong, and passing through northern Bac Ninh, Hung Yen and Hai Duong provinces.
The project targets to further boost the development of the northern economic triangle of Hanoi-Hai Phong-Quang Ninh.
