Regulation on Eco-label Certification to Be Issued
The Vietnam National Environment Administration organised a seminar on May 29, 2012 to collect opinions for the draft circular on process and procedure of eco-label certification for environment-friendly products and services.
According to the draft circular, environment-friendly products and services will be marked Eco-label (also known as Vietnam Green Label). The labelling is voluntary and is not governed by the laws on goods labelling.
Subjects are exporters, importers and suppliers of environment-friendly products and services specified by the Development Plan for the List of Green Label-certified Products and Services issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
Interested companies need to register for eco-labelling. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment will decide on the matter.
