Govt’ to Adjust WB-Funded Project for Mekong Delta
The Government has agreed with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s proposal to restructuring and expanding the Agriculture Competitiveness Project, which is sponsored by the World Bank for provinces in the Mekong Delta.
The State Bank of Vietnam is assigned to complete necessary procedures for the adjustment of the project and submit to competent agencies to approval.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will be responsible for speeding up disbursement progress for the project.
The objective of Agriculture Competitiveness Project for Vietnam is to provide support for the market-oriented development of the agriculture sector and strengthen the competitiveness of smallholder farmers.
The project will focus on connecting agriculture production and businesses, improving market accessibility for farmers, transferring and applying new technologies, and developing essential infrastructure for agriculture production.
