Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2013

The fifth Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2013 is set to take place from April 27 to May 1, 2013 at the heart of Hue City, the capital of Thua Thien - Hue province.

 

The festival, themed “Craft industries and craft villages in tourism development,” is organised by the Hue City People’s Committee in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Thua Thien - Hue Tourism Association.

 

This is a chance to showcase the Hue cuisine in particular and Vietnam gastronomy in general to domestic and foreign tourists. This also helps prove the role of Thua Thien - Hue province as the characteristic centre of culture and tourism in Vietnam.

 

Major activities during the Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2013 include the exhibition and introduction of handicrafts made by cottage industry villages aimed to serve the demand of visitors. In addition, many other activities will be organised during the event, including cottage industry village fair, cottage artwork exhibition, handicraft instruction shows, meetings with artisans, and art performance shows.

 

According to the organisers, Thua Thien - Hue province is expected to bring together concerned agencies to complete agenda and scenarios of the festival in September 2012.
