VCCI Willing to Support Improvement of Vinh Phuc’s PCI

In 2012, the PCI of Vinh Phuc province declined dramatically to 43^rd position out of 65 provinces and cities. Since the launch of the PCI, Vinh Phuc had always maintained a high ranking. This is one of the reasons why the Provincial People’s Committee and Business Association must review and offer solutions to improve the index. The province has proposed activities to boost trade and investment to improve economic efficiency and provincial employee capacity.

 

According to a representative of the Business Association of Vinh Phuc province, the province now has more than 5,000 businesses, in which 114 are FDI enterprises. Among these 5,000 businesses, there are about 550 enterprises investing in industrial parks, the rest are scattered across the area.

 

In the province's socio-economic development strategy for 2013 -2015, the province has a cooperation agreement with VCCI in many activities. In particular, the province has set two major tasks ahead. First, it is essential to attract investment in Vinh Phuc through specific activities such as promoting the implementation of communication activities to introduce the province’s potential in trade, investment, tourism. Besides, it is also important to attract foreign and domestic investors to invest in the province. In addition, there should be promotion of the development of industrial parks and clusters and agricultural areas of the province.

Second, it is significant to implement training activities to assist businesses, especially small and medium enterprises, in performing business administration, adopting new policies and training human resources for investment and trade promotion of the province.

 

At the meeting, departments of VCCI shared that depending on their function and mission, they are ready to immediately deploy programmes supporting Vinh Phuc province. Accordingly, VCCI will support the province on organising research, conducting surveys on the province's business environment, consulting the change of the province’s business environment to improve competitiveness and ability to attract investment. VCCI and the province also coordinate to boost propaganda activities introducing the economic, trade and tourism potential of the province on VCCI’s websites and magazine. Also the province in coordination with VCCI will develop and implement programmes to develop business towards 2015 and years onwards.

 

VCCI will create conditions for the province’s officials and businesses to participate in conferences, seminars, research programmes, surveys and meetings to exchange business cooperation with domestic and foreign enterprises in programmes organised by VCCI.

 

At the same time, VCCI coordinates with the province to assess and analyse results from the PCI survey and other surveys on the business environment of Vinh Phuc. It also provides detailed information on business survey and experience to improve the business environment of other localities. Moreover, it is building a sustainable development programme for the province's businesses and enterprises to perform social responsibility and cope with climate change and promote environmental improvement.

 

VCCI will coordinate with other departments of the province to promote the province's trade and to invest in human resources development. It will coordinate and support the province in training officials and businesses in the fields of business management, business start-ups, public-private partnerships and other relevant fields to the needs of the province. In the training of business start-up and helping young entrepreneurs, VCCI has given the Vietnam Business Forum Newspaper the right to jointly organise an exchange programme on business start-up for the youth and students in Vinh Phuc.

 

Vinh Phuc province also pledges to create all necessary conditions for the implementation of business supporting activities of VCCI in Vinh Phuc and provide information related to business development.

 

These measures along with long-term strategic cooperation direction between VCCI and Vinh Phuc province have brought about the confidence that in the future, Vinh Phuc province will become a place of huge attraction of good resources and investment from domestic and foreign investors, contributing to improving the province’s PCI.
