Vietnam Hosts International Industrial Fair 2004

 

The Vietnam International Industrial Fair 2004 was held at Giang Vo Exhibition Centre, 148 Giang Vo Street in Hanoi, from October 29 to November 2, with the theme "Vietnamese Industrial Products in the Multilateral Economic Integration Process".

 

Across a total area of 13,000 sq. m, local and foreign firms showcased machinery, technological production lines, equipment and spare parts for sectors of industry, forestry, transport, construction, energy and national defence. Engineering, electronic, chemical products and furniture were also on display. In particular, there were many booths exhibiting products of spearhead sectors such as automation (40 stalls), information technology, telecommunications and environment technologies.

 

The trade fair attracted more than 300 Vietnamese companies from 13 ministries, sectors and 34 provinces and cities including Hanoi, Haiphong, Danang, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Nam, Tay Ninh and Ha Nam. Of these, prominent booths belonged to the localities of Quang Nam and Tay Ninh and associations of Mine Electric Equipment-Engineering, Vietnam Automation Science, and the Construction Engineering Corporation.

 

The fair also attracted a large number of foreign businesses, including nearly 100 foreign companies from 13 countries and territories such as Austria, India, the Czech Republic, Taiwan, Germany and China. Most of the regular foreign exhibitors continued to participate in the fair on a larger scale. This year also marked the first time businesses from S. Korea attended.

 

Two workshops, entitled “Developing International Markets for Vietnamese Industrial Products in the Integration Process” and “Industrial Development Programs” were held on the day.

 

The organising board also presented Gold Cup awards to outstanding participants and presented medals for high-quality products displayed at the fair.
