Vietnam expects to lift up the bilateral relations with France to strategic partnership for the sake of the two nations’ citizens.

PM Nguyen Tan Dung made the above statement on August 5 during his reception for French FM Laurent Fabius, who was on an official visit to Vietnam on August 3-5.
Applauding the outcomes of the talks between the French and Vietnamese FMs, PM Dung suggested the two sides boost the bilateral cooperation, especially in economics and trade, investment, science and technology.

He hoped that the French side would support Vietnam in advantageous fields such as infrastructure, energy, transport, health, agriculture and food processing, strengthen cooperation in education and training, culture and provide more scholarships for Vietnam.

FM Laurent Fabius affirmed that France treasures the relations with Vietnam and stands ready to assist the Southeast Asian country in education and technology transfer.

The top French diplomat hoped both countries will coordinate to successfully organize the Global Conference on Climate Change held in France in December 2015.

On the same day, PM Nguyen Tan Dung also received President of the Thailand’s National Anti-Corruption Commission Panthep Klanarongran.
