Intensifying Probe in Environmental Polluters

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai recently presided over a meeting to review the implementation of the Decision No.64/2003/QD-TTg on plan for handling serious environment-polluting establishments and draft a new plan for the period to 2020.

 

Enforcing the Decision No.64/2003/QD-TTg, ministries, branches and localities have added their efforts to deploy drastic plans and achieve positive results in treating serious environmental polluters and gradually build the legal framework, raise the awareness of the community, government agencies and businesses towards the radical treatment of serious environmental polluters.

 

He said the drafting of the new decision and plan must clearly specify the function of the Interdisciplinary Steering Committee: Building a mechanism for checking, monitoring the implementation of handling serious environmental polluters till 2020. The committee will also guide and support ministries, agencies and localities to develop and propose support policies and solutions for specific projects to remediate environmental pollution.
