HCM City Plans to Become Vietnam Fashion Centre
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade said that the city is planning to become a centre of garment and textile services for the southern region. The largest city of Vietnam will be a fashion designing centre and a supplier of garment and textile materials for the country. The city will also focus on developing and investing from fibre, yarn and textile to dyeing and fabric finalisation.
The total capital investment for the period 2015-2020 will be VND12,560 billion (over US$585 million), of which a half will come from domestic enterprises, 30 percent from foreign investors and the rest from commercial loans.
