VCCI Appreciates USAID-funded Projects in Vietnam
VCCI President, Dr Vu Tien Loc on June 11 highly appreciated projects funded by U.S Agency for International Development (USAID) in Vietnam in recent years, especially the annual Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) Report project, during a meeting with Mr Joakim Parker, Mission Director of USAID Vietnam.
Dr Loc sent sincere thanks to USAID Vietnam for their great supports to VCCI activities in promoting Vietnam’s economic reform, market economy, and social issues. He remarked that the Vietnamese Government, the National Assembly and all the provinces and cities have considered PCI successes an important momentum for improving performance, capacity and willingness of provincial/municipal governments to develop business-friendly regulatory environments for the private sector’s development.
Mr Joakim Parker showed his satisfaction with the cooperation with VCCI and agreed to continue USAID support to projects jointly conducted by VCCI in the coming years.
On the occasion, VCCI President presented the Campaign Medal for Business Development to Mr Todd Hamner, USAID Vietnam’s Director Office of Economic Growth, who has great efforts in facilitating Vietnam’s business community in general and co-ordinating with VCCI in particular to obtain the successes of PCI project.
