VNA Takes Off with Airbus A350
The national flagship carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) recently held a ceremony to receive its first new-generation Airbus 350-900 aircraft at Noi Bai International Airport.
VNA became the second airline in the world to operate the latest-generation aircraft model of Airbus.
Altogether, VNA is set to acquire 14 A350 airplanes. The aircraft has two configurations with 305 seats across three classes. One model has 29 business seats, 45 premium-economy seats and 231 economy seats and another model has 29 business seats, 36 premium-economy seats and 240 economy seats
A VNA representative said the Airbus A350 is expected to be put into operation on HCM City-Hanoi route in July 2015 with two flights a day. It will fly the Hanoi-Paris route with a frequency of seven flights a week in September, the Ho Chi Minh City-Paris route with 3-4 flights a week from October, the Hanoi - Incheon route with seven flights a week from October and HCM City-Shanghai route with three flights a week from October.
