Vietnam is the next investment destination. It comes up from the relative benefits of production in Vietnam, including the low cost of labor, concessionary tax rates, and an impending free-trade agreement with the EU.
Foreign investment in Vietnam increased from $3.1 billion in 2006 to $12.4 billion in 2014, at a 19.09% CAGR. As a percentage of total investment in the country, foreign investment increased from 16.2% in 2006 to 21.7% in 2014. Total investment in manufacturing (both domestic and foreign) has jumped from $4.9 billion in 2008 to $11.7 billion in 2013, recording a 19.04% CAGR. According to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, manufacturing received the largest share of the total investment received (23.0%) by all sectors.
Mr. Duangdej Yuaikwarmdee, Deputy Managing Director and General Manager Vietnam of Reed Tradex Co., Ltd. said, “Vietnam is ongoing negotiations for a free-trade agreement with the European Union further strengthens its robust advantages.
