Seventh VCCI Party Congress Concludes Successfully

The Congress assessed and reviewed implementation results of the Resolution of the Sixth VCCI Party Congress (2010- 2015 term), and oriented and built objectives and tasks for the 2015-2020 term as well as solutions to carry out the new resolution successfully. The Congress also discussed and commented on documents of the 12^th Central Party Congress, and documents of the Second Party Congress of Central Business Bloc; elected the Executive Board for the VCCI Party Committee in the 2015-2020 term and elected delegates to the Second Party Congress of Central Business Bloc (2015- 2020 term).

 

In the past term, closely based on actual developments, advantages and disadvantages, the Executive Board for VCCI Party Committee has promptly introduced many proper and creative guidelines and solutions to lead and direct Party cells to successfully implement its political tasks. The Party Committee has achieved important results: Studying, surveying, inspecting and collecting business operations; timely proposing solutions to tackle difficulties and obstacles against enterprises; and deploying many effective activities to support enterprises to overcome difficulties, stabilise and develop production and business, and enhance competitiveness and international integration.

 

Regarding business support, the Executive Board for VCCI Party Committee has introduced a lot of activities to speed up business support. The Board has actively contacted and worked with local authorities, business associations and relevant agencies to grasp actual situations of enterprises to have better advice for the Government in creating policies on business environment, and coordinated with the Central Public Relations Committee to inspect the implementation of Resolution 09-NQ/TW in localities and enterprises. The VCCI Party Committee has also helped speed up administrative reform and improve economic governance capacity of local governments by building and carrying out Project 30 on administrative reform, engaged in the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council for Administrative Procedure Reform; and surveyed, published and advised localities to raise their provincial competitiveness index (PCI).

 

Besides, VCCI has accelerated creative trade and investment promotion to support enterprises to cope with their weaknesses and limitations in competitiveness and operational efficiency and boost exports to potential markets.

 

In addition, in the past term, to uphold the spirit of building clean, powerful and comprehensive Party cells, the VCCI Party Committee has consolidated political and ideological education for Party members, admitted new Party cadres, and perfected the organisation of Trade Union and Youth Union. The VCCI Party Committee has carried out thematic movements like "Learn and follow the morals of Ho Chi Minh in the spirit of responsibility, anti-individualism and promise keeping" and "Learn and follow the thoughts of Ho Chi Minh in building our clean and strong Party", and "Ho Chi Minh thoughts on enterprises and entrepreneurs.”

 

 

Speaking to the Congress, VCCI President Vu Tien Loc noted that, in the next five-year term, VCCI and the business community will face enormous opportunities and challenges. VCCI must take the lead in gathering and uniting businesses to carry out investment policies and activities.

 

In the next term, VCCI Party Committee will continue upholding the leadership and combativeness capacity of Party cells to promote its roles and reputation as a reliable representative of the business community, entrepreneurs, business association and employers in Vietnam.

 

Key tasks for the new term (2015 - 2020) are: Renovating methods, upholding leadership and combativeness capacity of the Party; promoting the roles of an agency representative for the business community, entrepreneurs, business associations and employers in Vietnam; expanding, renovating and enhancing business support quality to build powerful, competitive and responsible enterprise and entrepreneur forces for Vietnam to hold central positions and play key roles in the socialist-oriented market economy to realise the target of turning Vietnam into a modern industrial country.

 

In Party construction, the VCCI Party Committee will improve the quality of Party members and improve leadership methods. Every year, more than 50 percent of Party cells are recognised as clean and powerful, and 90 percent of Party members fulfil their tasks to make the VCCI Party Committee an all-embracing powerful Party unit.

 

Besides, the Congress has assigned some key tasks to the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) like strengthening cooperation and dialogue between enterprises and State agencies; gathering ideas, studying, reviewing and contributing policy suggestions for international economic integration and representing the business community in the process of negotiating bilateral and multilateral trade agreements; enhancing the assessment of policy impacts on the business community and entrepreneurs.

 

Keynote speeches by Mr Nguyen Tuan Hai, Deputy Director of International Relations Department and Mr Hoang Van Anh, Deputy Director of Membership and Training Department, among other cadres, suggested useful solutions to improve the working and combating capacity of Party cells, promote the roles and position of an agency representative of the business community, entrepreneurs, business associations and employers in Vietnam, and help build powerful forces of enterprises and entrepreneurs in Vietnam.

 

The Congress has elected 21 comrades to the Executive Board for VCCI Party Committee in the 2015-2020 tenure. Mr Hoang Quang Phong, VCCI Vice President, has been elected the Secretary of VCCI Party Committee in the 2015-2020 tenure.
