"Central  Highlands Festival 2005" to Be Held in March

An exhibition-trade fair named the "Central Highlands Festival 2005" will be held in Buon Ma Thuot city from March 9-14 to celebrate the 100^th founding anniversary of the city and 30^th anniversary of Buon Ma Thuot victory.

The exhibition-trade fair will take place on total areas of 21,000 square metres in the centre of Buon Ma Thuot city. It will become the place for cultural, economic, trade and tourism relations exchanges among local and foreign enterprises. It is expected there will there around 350 enterprises participating at the event.

There will be many activities during the event including an exhibition on socio-economic achievements of Dak Lak province over the past 30 years, an exhibition of beautiful pictures of Buon Ma Thuot city to celebrate the 100^th founding anniversary, an exhibition on products of local enterprises, a competition for local farmers, a contest on Central Highlands gastronomy, a film week regarding life in mountainous areas, art shows, sports and entertainment programmes.

Mr. Nguyen Van Lang - Chairman of Dak Lak People’s Committee said that the festival will help introduce a new face of the Dak Lak province and create opportunities to attract investors into the locality, especially in some fields that the province possesses great potential in such as agriculture product processing.

The exhibition-trade fair is sponsored by the Haiphong Chinfon Cement Co., Hue Beer Co., Trung Nguyen Coffee Co., Vietnam Insurance Corp. and the South Steel Co.
