Textile Exports May Reach US$27.5 Bln in 2015

Viet Nam expects to pocket US$27.5 billion from exporting textiles in 2015, said Vice President of the Viet Nam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) Le Tien Truong.
With the average export growth of 14.74% per year, the garment sector has become Viet Nam’s second key export item, helping the country to maintain its status as one of five largest garment exporters in the world.
The total export turnover of textiles exceeded US$106 billion between 2011and 2015.
 
Remarkably in 2013, Viet Nam earned more than US$20 billion from exporting garments, compared to US$11.2 billion in 2010. Last year, the figure rose  17% to US$24.7 billion.
 
The sector’s export value is expected to achieve US$42 billion by 2020.
