November CPI Inches up 0.07 Pct
Vietnam’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.07 percent in November from the previous month. From the start of the year, the figure has only increased 0.58 percent year on year.
Specifically, this month saw the highest price index in the group of housing, water, electricity and building materials at 0.32 percent. It was followed by food at 0.31 percent, housing equipment and appliances (0.19 percent) and beverage and cigarettes (0.16 percent).
Service groups with price reductions were transport (0.38 percent), post and telecoms (0.1 percent), and fuel (0.79 percent).
Regarding geographic location, some localities had CPI rise from the previous month, including Hanoi (0.04 percent), Ho Chi Minh city (0.1 percent), Thua Thien - Hue (0.12 percent), Da Nang (0.03 percent), Khanh Hoa (0.17 percent), Gia Lai (0.04 percent) and Vinh Long (0.32 percent).
The declines in CPI were seen in three localities, including Thai Nguyen (0.05 percent), Hai Phong (0.15 percent) and Can Tho (0.06 percent).
Prices of both gold and the USD dropped 0.61 percent and 0.31 percent respectively over a month earlier.
