VN Welcomes over 5.5 Million Foreign Arrivals in First 4 Months
The number of foreign arrivals to Viet Nam rose 29.5 per cent to 5.547 million in the first four months of 2018, according to the General Statistics Office.
Of the total figure, 4.434 million travelled by air, representing a year-on-year increase of 26.3 per cent.
Asia was the key source market of Viet Nam with 4.169 million, up 36 per cent against the same period last year. China topped the list with more than 1.7 million followed by the Republic of Korea with 1.1 million, and Japan with 279.800.
The number of tourists from the Europe was estimated at 843,000. While visitors from Africa grew 22.5 per cent to 14.800.
General Statistics Office estimated that 12.9 million international visitors arrived in Viet Nam during 2017, up 29.1 per cent against 2016.
