Hoa Tho Garment Trademark Established

Hoa Tho Garment Company is well known in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands for its products of high quality, reasonable price, diverse style and punctual delivery. In 2004, the company was rated by the Ministry of Trade as one of 12 leading garment, companies including foreign enterprises, in Vietnam.

According to Director Tran Van Pho, the company has made greatest efforts to achieve its annual plan. 2004 was a successful year for the company with production value of VND288 billion (57 per cent more than 2003 and 13 per cent more than the plan), turnover of VND331 billion (10 per cent more than the plan), and export value of US$32.6 million (58 per cent more than 2003).

One of the main causes of success has been good investment. The company has invested VND42 billion expanding production lines from 8 to 12 with 7,000 additional yarn looms and modern equipment. It has also organised production in accordance with categories and clients, improving working conditions and efficiency.

The company has been granted certificates ISO 9001:2000 and SA8000 and highly rated by foreign partners. After inspection, the US Customs Office has approved the production and formalities for export commodities to the American market; the company is also seeking more clients and markets. Presently, it supplies products to such trademarks as Haggar, Target, Nautica, Express, John Henry, Ping, and Perry Ellis.

The company has received an increasing number of orders for knitwear and adequate orders for garments to the US and other countries. The company has continued the production form of FOB and in cooperation with 10 other enterprises has increased exports meeting bigger demands of partners.

For future development, the company will upgrade management and production, expanding to the EU market and other non-quota markets. In 2005, the company will develop a garment enterprise in Chu Lai Open Economic Zone.
