Budget Revenue Rises 12.6% in Nine Months

Tax authorities collected an estimated VND892,944 billion for the State Budget in the first nine months of 2019, fulfilling 76.4% of the estimation and rising 12.6% over the same period in 2018. Collections from crude oil accounted for 4.91% of the total and equaled 98.3% of the estimate as oil prices rose 4.1% to US$67.7 per barrel.

Domestic collections accounted for 95.09% of the total, estimated to fulfil 75.6% of the estimate and to rise 13.7% over the same period of 2018. 11 out of 18 revenue items completed over 75% of full-year estimate and most items increased from a year ago, with the production- business sector climbed by 13.1%.

According to the General Department of Taxation, the tax sector will accelerate tax administration reform in the coming time, apply electronic tax services for taxpayers, and provide Level 3 and Level 4 online public services for citizens and businesses. 99.48% of active companies declared tax online and 99% paid taxes electronically. 96% of tax refund records were made online.

Tax authorities carried out electronic projects as scheduled, including providing online tax payment services for landowners, business households and individuals; piloting electronic declaration and payment of vehicle registration fees; piloting electronic tax declarations for house renting; and piloting electronic tax payment for business individuals. Tax authorities usually hosted dialogues, meetings and conferences with taxpayers to inform new tax policies; answered their questions about via television, radio and newspapers and websites; and launched online telephone support.
