Vietnam Expo is regarded as a trade promotion event organised every year by the Vietnamese trade sector. VIB Forum reporter had an interview with Mr Nguyen Khac Luan, Director General of Vietnam Advertising and Trade Fair Company (VINEXAD), organiser of EXPO 2005.
Could you tell something about VINEXAD?
VINEXAD was established in April 1975 and is now a ranking trademark in Vietnam for advertisement, trade fair, and trade promotion programmes both at home and abroad. The company has a 250-strong staff with business managers, engineers, painters, specialists and PR officers working at 13 units nation-wide. The company is committed to creating a dynamic environment for trade promotion, an efficient bridge for business activities in Vietnamese and foreign markets.
What do you expect from EXPO 2005?
It is the biggest trade fair of the trade sector in the year. It will display products of various industries: agriculture and processed products, fashion, wooden furniture and fine art articles, electricity, electronic, IT, machines and equipment, building materials. Some 600 companies will participate with 750 pavilions, including 26 per cent by foreign companies. It will draw some 100,000 Vietnamese visitors and business missions from 21 countries. The fair will focus on new products of Vietnam and other countries, promoting trademarks, technology transfer and business opportunities.
In addition to contracts what else can the fair achieve?
The total value of contracts signed at the fair is not the ultimate goal. Participating in the fair, businesses will have the opportunity to meet with consumers and perfect their business planning. Market surveys will improve their supply and business success. Therefore, it is very important for the participants.
