Representatives of the Vietnamese business community recently presented more than 1.3 million face masks and medical supplies to the U.S Embassy and the Operation USA in Vietnam to support the American people in their fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. This is a practical activity contributing to the 25th anniversary of Vietnam – U.S. Diplomatic Relations (1995 - 2020).

Addressing the ceremony, VCCI President Vu Tien Loc said, since the beginning of April 2020, the U.S. Embassy and VCCI have worked closely to support the program of Vietnamese companies delivering medical supplies aid to American people. This shows the friendship between the business communities and peoples of the two countries. This donation is only a small number compared to the demand for masks and medical supplies from the U.S., but it is the friendship of Vietnamese businessmen to the American people.
In accepting the donation, U.S. Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink expressed his sincere thanks to the Vietnamese enterprises, saying that Vietnam's help to the U.S. was a testament to the saying "A friend in need is a friend indeed”.
President of Operation USA Richard Walden affirmed that the medical supplies that Vietnamese businesses donated are really necessary as the Covid19 pandemic in the U.S. is continuing its heavy consequences.
On behalf of Vietnamese enterprises presenting the masks and medical supplies, Vice Chairman of AIC Group Nguyen Van Ky said, "We hope that the small gifts of Vietnamese enterprises can support the United States in quickly repelling the pandemic, helping to resume trade between businesses of the two countries."
