State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc spoke highly of the achievements of the Boao Forum for Asia over the past two decades, expressing his hope that the Forum will continue being a platform for politicians, scholars and entrepreneurs to discuss key matters in the region.

The State President made the above statement on April 20 while delivering his video remarks at the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia.

As the world is experiencing unprecedented challenges, Nguyen underlined that only cooperation and solidarity could bring about success and joint actions are needed to achieve inclusive and sustainable growth for all.

From that perspective, the Vietnamese State leader called for placing special attention on containing the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring opportunities for vaccines with reasonable costs.

Nguyen stressed the need to focus on stabilizing macro-economy, facilitating trade, investment and supply chains, mobilizing resources for sustainable and inclusive growth towards the realization of the UN-led sustainable development goals by 2030.

Regarding the Viet Nam-China ties, the State President reiterated that Viet Nam expects to strengthen comprehensive, effective and equal cooperation with China for mutual benefits and for increasingly stronger relations between the two countries.

The Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2021 (AC2021) is set to run from April 18 to 21 under the theme of “A World in Change: Join Hands to Strengthen Global Governance and Advance Belt and Road Cooperation”.

This year's conference, now celebrating its 20th anniversary, was attended by more than 2,600 guests from over 60 countries and regions.
