Transport Ministry to Sell Shares in 141 Enterprises
The Ministry of Transport plans to complete rearranging 226 enterprises under its umbrella by the end of 2006, including 141 units to go public, said the ministry.
The ministry will sell shares of 71 enterprises this year and another 70 firms next year.
So far this year, 11 State-owned enterprises under the ministry have decided to go public. Three others have received capital valuation and auditing decisions and 17 businesses are assessing their value for the equitization process, to be completed in June.
Since the government released the equitization guideline in early 1996, the ministry has equitized 148 enterprises.
