Latest Guidelines for 2nd Phase of Pilot Program to Welcome International Tourists

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has renewed guidelines for the implementation of the second phase of a pilot program to welcome international tourists.

The second phase of the program will be implemented from now to March 14 before the country is set to fully reopen international tourism and lift all travel restrictions from March 15.

Incoming tourists shall be required to show proof of full vaccination, with the last dose taken at least 14 days and no more than 12 months before their arrival, or certificate of recovery from COVID-19 issued within six months.

Travellers must present a certificate of negative RT-PCR/RT-LAMP COVID-19 test result issued within 72 hours before arriving in Viet Nam.

The mandatory insurance coverage amount for COVID-19 treatment shall be at least US$20,000.

If tested negative for COVID-19 on the third day after arrival, fully vaccinated travellers can participate in tourism programs in all localities allowed to join the pilot program.

Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated tourists accompanied by parents or guardians are required to participate in tourism programs of travel agents within seven days from the date of arrival. These tourists shall be asked to take RT-PCR tests on the third and seventh days after arrival if their duration of stay is more than seven days.
