Ford Vietnam Sponsors VTV3 Broadcasting of UEFA Champion League 2005-2006

Ford Vietnam has recently become the official sponsor for the broadcasting of UEFA Champion League (C1) 2005-2006 on VTV3 – the sport and entertainment channel of Vietnam Television.
 
The season 2005-2006 of UEFA Champion League, one of the three most fascinating football tournaments on the world, including World Cup and European Cup, takes place from July 2005 to May 2006 with the participation of 32 European leading teams, will be directly telecasted nationwide at 01.45 and 02.45 on every Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
 
Ford Motor Company is one of the four official sponsors for the tournament in 2005-2006, together with Amstel Beer, PlayStation2 and MasterCard, therefore, Ford Vietnam hopes that Ford brand will closely go together with the interesting football event in Vietnam.
 
The strong development of Ford Vietnam over the past 10 years has made the company become the second biggest holder of car market shares in Vietnam. Ford Vietnam brands such as Ford Escape, Ford Ranger, Ford Mondeo, Ford Laser, Ford Transit, Ford Everest, and the latest model Ford Focus are most-wanted by customers thanks to their competitive features such as strong power, high quality, nice designs, and fuel saving. The sponsorship is also considered an activity to celebrate Ford Vietnam’s 10-year anniversary and shows the company’s commitment to its customers who have been putting their faith in Ford Vietnam products.
 
The company’s sales increased from 365 units in 1998 to 5,618 in 2004. Of which, Escape and Ford Ranger models take the biggest market shares of sport utility vehicles (SUV) and pick-up trucks, respectively; and Ford Transit, Ford Mondeo, and Ford Laser have always seen high sales. Especially, Ford Vietnam received 1,277 orders for 7-seat Ford Everest SUV sedans only three months before the launching in late June 2005.
 
Ford Vietnam, the biggest automobile joint venture in Vietnam, was set up in September 1995 with total capital of US$102 million between the world’s second largest auto manufacture Ford Motor with 75 per cent of the total and Diesel Song Cong Company (25 per cent).  
           
According to Tim Tucker, General Director of Ford Vietnam, the company will continue to remain the number one position on the world and Vietnamese markets in term of producing trucks, and try to become one of the leading car manufacturers in the world and Vietnam. “Our slogan is Ford Vietnam commits to target at benefits of customers in any circumstances,” he added.
