Bolstering Vietnam - British Business Cooperation

A delegation of the British Chamber of Commerce Vietnam (BritCham Vietnam) led by Chairman Christopher Jeffery paid a working visit to the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to a bid to seek and launch new cooperation between the two parties in the coming time.

At the meeting, BritCham Chairman Christopher Jeffery introduced to VCCI President Pham Tan Cong about BritCham's activities and proposed cooperation for the two sides.

He said, Mr. Graham Stuart, Trade Envoy in charge of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia from January 2022, is expected to visit Vietnam in early April 2022. On this occasion, BritCham hoped to have a meeting with VCCI to discuss cooperation opportunities between the two sides.

In addition, BritCham is expected to host a Great Award Ceremony for outstanding British businesses in June 2022, hoping that the VCCI President will be the guest of honor at this event.

On this occasion, Jeffery also expressed his wish to host a meeting between the British Corporate Advocacy Council (BCAC) under BritCham with Vietnamese CEOs to find out and discuss investment cooperation opportunities.

VCCI President Pham Tan Cong expressed his pleasure with the working visit by the BritCham delegation and highly appreciated VCCI - BritCham cooperation in the past time. He highly agreed with cooperation proposed by BritCham and committed to siding with BritCham in business support for enterprises of both countries.

He also proposed strengthening connection and cooperation between VCCI and BritCham to become more specific and practical in order to support the two business communities to make the most of opportunities brought by FTAs. In addition, the two sides can coordinate in organizing Vietnam - UK business forums to help their businesses to seek cooperation opportunities and access each other's markets.
