After more than two years of construction, the 110Kv double-circuit line from Tinh Bien to Chau Doc (An Giang province), with a total length of 10 km and an investment cost of more than VND60 billion, was successfully fed into the national grid system at 09:00 am September 19, 2022.

This event is of great significance to many solar power investors in An Giang, including Sao Mai Group, because the connection of the 110-kV transmission line will help An Hao Solar Power Park of Sao Mai Group to work at 100% design capacity and bring the group’s energy revenue to increase by VND300 billion a year. This is also a source of growing net profit every year.

Reportedly, Sao Mai Group is a reputable solar power investor in the south and it has spent over VND6,000 billion to build 210-Mwp An Hao Solar Power Farm in Tinh Bien district. As the project was successfully operated and connected to the national electricity system before December 31, 2020, so it has enjoyed many incentives.

In 2021, Sao Mai Group’s total solar power revenue reach nearly VND600 billion and its gross profit was over VND400 billion, thus helping improve its overall business performance.

Besides, the successful feed-in of the 110-KV double-circuit line from Tinh Bien to Chau Doc will help address power shortages in the Mekong Delta when the capacity of An Hao Solar Power Park is maximized to better support national energy security and affirm the success of Sao Mai Solar Power Project after many months of waiting.

At a recent regular government meeting in August, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that “Oil, gas and coal are all bought at higher and higher prices. The deeper the coal is extracted, the more expensive it is. Meanwhile, Vietnam has much sunlight and wind which are not bought or imported nor no one can take them away. Besides, wind and solar energy technology is increasingly developed with cheaper prices. Vietnam is able to advance energy conversion in line with global trends, develop an energy conversion industry and manufacture renewable energy equipment.
