DRC: Asserting Quality of and Pride in Vietnamese Tires

Formerly a tire manufacturer for the U.S. army, after nearly five decades of development, Da Nang Rubber Joint Stock Company (DRC) has become a leader in the Vietnamese tire manufacturing industry. The company was ranked in the Top 75 tire manufacturers worldwide in 2020 by Rubbernews Magazine.

Path to sustainable development

After 48 years of development, DRC has seven manufacturing factories covering 272,606 square meters and registered capital of more than VND1,187 billion. In 2022, its revenue reached VND5,139 billion, including an all-time high export value of VND3,059 billion. This was an impressive milestone as it made DRC a big firm with a yearly revenue of over VND5,000 billion.

Particularly, 2021 was considered a year of technological breakthroughs for DRC engineers as they researched and launched the DSTAR all-steel truck tire lineup for long-distance trucks and passenger cars. At the same time, DRC successfully designed and commercialized the TBR tire line that met the strict requirements of the U.S. market.

In 2022, DRC built and expanded the third-phase Radial truck tire factory with a total investment fund of nearly VND1,000 billion to raise its capacity to 1 million tires a year. The project demonstrated the outstanding stature and development of DRC in production and business activities.

DRC - Vietnamese tires, international quality

With high-quality human resources and world-class production lines, including sealed smelting lines imported from Italy and Japan, tire extrusion systems imported from Germany, steel lamination systems imported from Italy and finished tire shapers imported from VMI of the Netherlands, DRC has introduced products of superior quality onto the market to meet maximum demands of customers such as truck tires, passenger tires, agricultural machine tires, industrial tires, tires for special purposes and bicycle and motorcycle tires.

With those successes, DRC continued to conquer demanding markets like the United States when its Radial tires met Smartway and DOT standards. At the same time, its Radial tires are also granted reputable certificates from Europe (E-Mark), Japan (JIS), Indonesia (SNI), Brazil (INMETRO) and India (BIS), thus affirming the DRC brand in the international market.

Currently, DRC has dominated the domestic market with more than 2,000 first-tier and second-tier agents in 63 provinces and has been present in more than 40 countries and territories, including demanding markets such as the U.S., Europe and Brazil.

Business for community and for environment

In addition to business development, DRC upholds the pro-community and pro-society spirit with meaningful humanitarian activities like supporting vaccine fund/COVID-19 prevention activity, awarding scholarships to poor students, repairing houses for policy-benefited families and poor households in Hoa Hiep Bac Ward, and supporting Agent Orange victims.

At the same time, DRC always strives to turn environmental awareness into self-awareness and action with a series of solutions like replacing fluorescent bulbs with Led lights, introducing solutions for the cooling system at the bicycle and motorcycle tire factory from 30kW to 6kW; reducing idling time by using inverters to control pressure in air compressor systems.

Rewards of persistent efforts

In the past 48 years of development, DRC is one of a few companies to have won the Vietnam Value Award in all eight years, along with other desirable awards such as Excellent Asian Business in 2022, Top 10 Vietnam Gold Products - Gold Services Award in 2022 and Top 20 Most Reputed Asian Brands. These proved the recognition and motivation for DRC to continue the journey of "Conquering all roads".
