The Central Youth Union, The Central Association Council, in collaboration with SCG and HCMC Student Assistant Center (SAC) proudly announces the launch of the SCG Sharing The Dream 2023 scholarship program for students and pupils nationwide. It aims to provide support and empowerment to 100 university students and 100 pupils across Vietnam who demonstrate a strong determination to overcome life challenges and contribute to their communities through environmental and social projects. With a total fund of VND 2,7 billion for scholarship and enhancing sustainable mindset courses for students.

Education, often regarded as the cornerstone of empowerment, holds the potential to transform lives. SCG Sharing The Dream 2023 Scholarship not only offers financial support but also provides an opportunity for young individuals to unlock their full potential and pursue their dreams. SCG Sharing The Dream' scholarship actively contributes to the creation of a thriving community where generations of scholars support each other in their pursuit of academic excellence and personal development. SCG also nurtures local and national talents while instilling positive values within our community and society at large. Furthermore, the scholarship offers students valuable opportunities to engage in practical social skill development and professional growth experiences within SCG's business units. This program establishes the foundation for ongoing support initiatives for underprivileged students, as well as the care and education of adolescents and children.

In the spirit of fostering positive changes, SCG presents the SCG Sharing The Dream 2023 Scholarship program under the theme "Changemaker Gen: Transform Challenges into Sustainable Dreams” for 100 scholarships for disadvantaged children across the country, in conjunction with the annual scholarships provided by the Central Youth Union and the Central Association Council. This initiative offers numerous educational opportunities for these children and fosters an environment for their holistic development.

Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of Party Committee of The Central Youth Union, President of The Central Association Council shared: “Every year, the Central Youth Union and the Central Association Council undertake numerous activities to support students and young people facing difficult circumstances, helping them overcome in their studies and lives. At the same time, we represent, care for, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of younger people. We are deeply honored to collaborate with SCG on such a meaningful project, which not only supports disadvantaged students and youngsters in pursuing their educational dreams but also equips them with a mindset for a sustainable future. This collaboration in human development will gain many positive results and have a significant impact on society as a whole. It will foster values that drive the young generation of Vietnam - the future leaders of our nation to strive for excellence, cultivate ethics, and pioneer in the nation's development and innovation efforts for a prosperous, happy, rich, and beautiful Vietnam, successfully realizing the great aspirations of President Ho Chi Minh and the strong ambitions of the Vietnamese people."

Alongside the theme of launching the SCG Sharing The Dream 2023 Scholarship, 100 scholarships will be granted to promising college students at public institutions nationwide, with a particular emphasis on those majoring in engineering, design, environment, and economics (Marketing, Business administration, Accounting). To provide scholars with a practical perspective, SCG Sharing The Dream 2023 includes immersive factory/office workplace tours of SCG's facilities. These visits offer scholars a firsthand look at industry operations, connecting their academic knowledge with real-world applications. One of the program's core components is the deep dive into sustainable development. Scholars will embark on a journey to build knowledge and understanding of how the ESG mindset operates within a corporation. They will be given chances to collaborate on idea generation and community projects, guided by mentors, and receive assistance in translating these initiatives into tangible community benefits. This invaluable insight prepares them to be champions of responsible business practices.

"In today's complex world, we face an array of complex challenges, including inequality, environmental destruction, pandemics, conflicts, and various unexpected issues. At SCG, our guiding philosophy centers around belief in the individual. We place a strong trust in the potential of the youth, recognizing them as the driving force behind the country's development, with the young generation emerging as a potent catalyst for change. Moreover, in pursuit of sustainability, SCG has adopted the ESG 4Plus strategy, encompassing objectives to Net–Zero emissions, Go Green, Reduce Inequality, and Embrace Collaboration. Through our annual 'Sharing The Dream' scholarship program, our goal is to empower this generation with equal educational opportunities and instill in them an ESG mindset, fostering their development as responsible global citizens." said Mr. Praween Wirotpan - General Director of SCG Vietnam.

At the heart of this scholarship lies a commitment to the holistic development of scholars. Alongside their academic pursuits, scholars will have the opportunity to participate in comprehensive training courses that are crafted to enhance their skills and bolster their self-worth, equip them for success beyond their academic journey, sharpen their sustainable mindset and provide funds for their community projects.

As two exemplary representatives of the students who received the SCG Sharing The Dream 2022 scholarship, Trong Tinh and Cam Ly have honed essential skills and developed sustainable, community-driven projects. Trong Tinh initiated the "Sustainable Fashion" project, aiming to promote the advantages of recycling old clothing, inspiring individuals to repurpose these items into new, vibrant products, while fostering a renewed sense of responsibility in the fashion industry. On the other hand, Cam Ly developed mobile green libraries, with the primary goal of reducing educational inequality. Her initiative provided underprivileged children with easier access to knowledge.

Receiving the scholarship has enabled Tinh and Ly to excel in their academic performance and the ESG training from SCG has also emboldened them to actively participate in various ESG activities both domestically and internationally, with the aim of inspiring the younger generation. With these remarkable achievements, both Trong Tinh and Cam Ly have become ESG Ambassadors 2023, joining SCG in their mission to spread the ESG spirit far and wide. Trong Tinh stated: “The scholarship and SCG's financial support turned my dream of education into reality. Through their training courses and exposure to the ESG mindset, my knowledge and perspective expanded significantly. Winning the ESG Ambassador contest and representing Vietnam at the ESG Symposium in Thailand were transformative experiences that have deepened my commitment to driving positive change”.

These success stories serve as powerful sources of inspiration, motivating other young individuals to shift from "wanting" to "being ready" to change and achieve their goals. SCG firmly believes that by providing access to quality education and nurturing the potential of promising individuals, we can drive positive change and create a brighter, better, and more equitable future for all.
