The opening ceremony of The 4th Vietnam International Supporting Industry and Manufacturing Exhibition – VIMEXPO 2023 officially took place on the morning of November 15, 2023 at Hanoi International Exhibition Center – I.C.E Hanoi, No. 91 Tran Hung Dao, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.

The exhibition is directed by Ministry of Industry and Trade, hosted by Industrial Development Center (IDC), organized by C.I.S Vietnam Advertising & Exhibition JSC. The opening ceremony of Vimexpo 2023 welcomed the presence of Ms. Phan Thi Thang – Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; Mr. Thomas J. Jacobs - Country Manager, International Finance Corporation (IFC); Mr. Matsumoto Izumi - Secretary, Japanese Embassy, Mr. Choi Joo Ho - President, Samsung Electronics Vietnam Company Limited; Mr. Nakano Keita, President, Toyota Motor Vietnam Co.,Ltd.; Mr. Pham Anh Tuan – Deputy General Director, Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation (VEAM), as well as representatives of domestic and foreign associations, organizations and businesses.VIMEXPO belongs to the Supporting Industry Development Program. It is an event concretizing the Government’s Resolution No. 115/NQ-CP, with the aim of creating a favorable environment for businesses in manufacturing and supporting industries to introduce products, exchange technologies, seek business partners, strengthen joint ventures, and attract investment.
Through 3 times of organization, VIMEXPO with the goal "Connect to develop" has received a lot of attention, participation and support from domestic and international companies in manufacturing and supporting industries. VIMEXPO 2023 has a scale of 7000 sqm, with around 300 booths and the participation of over 200 exhibitors: THACO Group, TOYOTA VIETNAM, VEAM, SAMSUNG VIETNAM, KOKWANG, NHAT HA ENGINEERING CO.,LTD, JAAN – E, HANOI PLASTIC, YANGMIN, TAN PHONG ALLOY TRADING COMPANY LIMITED, 83 MECHANICAL ONE MEMBER LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY, VPROUD, SHENSU, EMA, JS TECH, etc. as well as companies from countries and territories: Germany, Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, etc.

At the Opening Ceremony, Ms. Phan Thi Thang - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade said, "In the context that the Government and the business community are trying to promote economic recovery with the orientation "Connect to develop", I believe that Vietnam International Supporting Industry and Manufacturing Exhibition – VIMEXPO 2023 will become an "ideal meeting point" between enterprises, creating opportunities to form and develop domestic value chains through effective investment attraction and promotion of business connection and linkages between Vietnamese enterprises and multinational companies, domestic and international manufacturing and assembly companies, contributing to concretizing and realizing the wishes and policies of the Party and State of Vietnam in building a strong national industry on the basis of development of a system of industrial enterprises that is great in both quantity and quality".
Mr. Watanabe Shige - Deputy Ambassador, Japanese Embassy spoke at the Opening Ceremony, "In the context of global shifting of the supply chain, in order for Vietnam's manufacturing industry to develop further and become an important link in the supply chain, the growth of related industries, i.e. supporting industries, is very important. In fact, Japanese Government and businesses have been closely cooperating in contributing to the development of Vietnam’s supporting industries and related industries. In order for Vietnam to further develop in the manufacturing industry and become an important link in the supply chain, besides further promotion of supporting industries, it is essential for Vietnam to promote digital transformation, increase the manufacturing of products with high added value. I look forward to many interesting exhibits at this VIMEXPO 2023 towards a new era in the manufacturing industry."
Representative of International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Vietnam, Mr. Darryl Dong said, "Vietnam has cemented itself as an important manufacturing center of the world. This is a good start. Vietnam has attracted a remarkable influx of foreign direct invesment and multinational companies, many of which are present here today… I would like to highlight the cooperation between IFC and Ministry of Industry and Trade and Vietnam Industry Agency, and would like to express our sincere gratitude to both agencies for choosing IFC as a strategic partner to support the development of Vietnam's manufacturing and supporting industries."

Mr. Choi Joo Ho - President of Samsung Vietnam Complex spoke at the Opening Ceremony, "Today I am very delighted to participate in VIMEXPO for the development of Vietnam's supporting industries. Above all, I hope that the exhibition will be a good opportunity for outstanding Vietnamese businesses to participate in the supply chain of global companies. Based on Samsung Vietnam's business philosophy of "mutual prosperity", in the coming time, Samsung will also continue to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam’s government and relevant agencies, and maintain activities to develop Vietnam's supporting industries."
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation said at the Opening Ceremony, "We highly appreciate and acknowledge impressive results brought by VIMEXPO with many opportunities to connect with international and domestic businesses. The exhibition will continue to help VEAM as well as companies achieve positive results and goals in trade promotion and market development, thereby creating opportunities for cooperation, expansion of relationships and access to the world's major industrial advances, strengthening the roles of Vietnamese companies as well as VEAM in participating in the global value and supply chains."
VIMEXPO 2023 continues to accomplish the mission "Connect to develop", affirming itself as a bridge helping domestic and international businesses in manufacturing and supporting industries have the opportunities to share and exchange state-of-the-art technologies, access business partners, expand markets, invest in expanding production, improve competitiveness, gradually participate in the global supply chain. During exhibition days, the Organizing Board of VIMEXPO 2023 will cooperate with state management agencies and specialized associations to organize a series of essential concurrent activities for companies: Specialized conference with the topic “Guidance on Accessing the U.S. Market for Vietnamese Industrial SMEs”; Talk show on the topic "Sustainable supply chain: A new approach for Enterprises"; Business networking activities: "Business Matching", as well as many technology shows and useful events organized by domestic and international exhibitors during 3 exhibition days.
VIMEXPO 2023 will be open to visitors from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm during 3 days from November 15 to 17, 2023. It is expected to attract about 15,000 visitors. VIMEXPO 2023 has cemented its role as the most prestigious and professional annual event of Vietnam’s manufacturing and supporting industries.
