Russian Firms Seek Vietnamese Partners in Hanoi

Around forty Russian Firms are scheduled to arrive in Vietnam’s capital Hanoi on December 2 to seek local partners at the Hanoi-Moscow Tourism, Trade and Investment Promotion Forum 2005, according to the Hanoi External Relations Office.
 
The forum will take place on December 2. There will be cultural exchange activities, as part of “Moscow Days” event to be held from December 2-4 to introduce cooperation potentials between the two cities.  
 
Hanoi plans to shortly set up a trade center with total investment capital of US$30 million in Russia, aiming to showcase Vietnamese products and boost exports to the European nation. HCM City also plans to build a trade center in Russia next year.
 
Two-way trade between Vietnam and Russia was US$860 million last year, a year-on-year increase of 32 per cent. Of the figure, Vietnam's exports to Russia increased by 19 per cent to US$190 million and its imports from the foreign country rose 36.2 per cent to US$670 million.
 
The two countries target to boost bilateral trade revenue to US$1 billion this year.
